Blackguard AD 2007

The Blackguard album was made to celebrate a new arrival, my new '52 Style Telecaster, made from parts (see guitar bores corner).

One of my students had asked what kind of music you would play on a guitar like that, to which I replied "anything". This collection of instrumentals sets out to do just that. The 12 tracks were recorded soon after I put the guitar together. Only one, "Overhanger" was written before - it was written when I was at college in the early 80s.

The title refers to the nickname given to Fender Broadcaster / Nocaster / Telecasters made between 1948 and 1953. The AD 2007 is a reference to the year mine was put together and the pretty terrible film "Dracula AD 1972".
